Your opinion on base V8 pricing

Hi, im relatively new to the forums but i have followed camaro5 since the announcement of the return of the car in 2006. My first car is most likely going to be the Camaro. And I really want the V8. I was wondering if anybody knew if it is possible that the V8 is going to be sold under $30,000. And if it helps, i live in California. Thanks to everyone that reads this, and keep up the nice threads on here.

and another thing. i read something on here about there not being a green option for the color and i remember writing on the forums that they needed to come out with one. Any new developments?

No chance the SS goes for under $30k for at least a year.

A base SS is 31k right now. If he has any access to supplier discounts he's already at around 30k. Not really too much farther to go... 6-7 months until the hype calms down and he can probably break the 29,995 threshold would be my guess. Now if he's looking for 27-28k, that's another story.

base 1SS 30,245 +750 DFT= 30,995

Ok, "bare bones" was a little extreme. Still, how much closer to 31k you want? Yes, of course +ttl...

Just wait a few years and buy a couple year old SS. I'm sure a lot of people with a lot of money will be trading them in when the Z/28 comes out.

Plan on costs rising.....then maybe an incentive or two to get you back to today's pricing.

Aw its only 31k com'on
J/k it 31k is i think kinda resonable considering all the hype and there is still dealers out there selling for MSRP or less. With a down payment of about 1500 to 2k it might put you at the 30 mark after tags/tax/title

how can anyone afford $30K but not 31K? I realize there has to be some breaking point but this should only be like $10-15 per month on a $500 payment.

If you don't order before 3/16 it is all a gamble on pricing after that, but I wouldn't expect the price dropping on this first model year. A used SS in a year might be a good option for ya, they will be out there! GL
BTW I think it is priced great, and I am very happy getting it at MSRP. IMO GM/Chevy has done very well with the enthusiast and I am very proud to be at least a very little part of it!

thedifference between 30k and 31k is like 16.67 a month per 1000 financed i believe so it is a difference between maybe 500-520mo
