Angry Convertible Leak

Last week I thought I was crazy and found a wet rear passenger carpet. Thought maybe I did something wrong like not closing the door all the way or maybe a window was open a bit.

Today we had a massive rain storm and again it's a problem. Knew it was going to rain so I triple checked everything to be safe. Get into the car and find this:

One thing you could try after that is dried, Put the sprinkler on your car and sit in the rear seat. Keep checking the floor, if you begin to see/feel water look around for where it is comming in. If you don't see where it is most likely comming in from under the carpet. Perhaps from the trunk area and flowing along the metal floor under the rear seat and puddeling at the rear passanger floor. Strange it's onlt the passanger rear right? Maybe a clue, whats different between the right and left rear of the camaro vert?

A definite dealer-trip.

Make sure he opens a case file for you, too.
That ensures the Camaro team will see it.

since there is no other wetness that you can see from it dripping, you think it could be your heater core?

just my 2 cents

leak?

oh no... i'm at 3400 now. Let me know what the dealer says. I also saw there are wind leaks reported, more than the typical verts. Anyone else experienced issues with the verts?

That's one of the risks you take with a convertible.
Hopefully they figure out what is leaking, repair it and replace anything that is damaged.

Surprised it is leaking since they do some kind of monsoon testing @ the plant before sending it out.

I think he meant his car build is at 3400. I would think it might be coming in from the boot area and coming down the sides to the carpet area. Maybe a seal is loose or something?

Talked to a guy Saturday who said his also leaked, but the water was leaking down and under the carpet and then coming through the carpet on to the floor board.

From what I've found, all signs point to an issue with the Water Bag. There are 2 TSBs that address this: One is a review of the system before the top is put down for the first time, the second references the condition I'm experiencing and calls for a repair/replace scenario.

If you put a sprinkler in your car and sit in the rear seat you will get wet.

Dude, that does indeed suck. But, as you already know, bring it in...they'll fix it...
