GM and Chevy saved a toddler's life today
I was driving past the square in downtown Tyler at about 10 this morning, and spotted a family with a couple of young children walking across the plaza area where the war memorials are. I thought to myself, "Hmm..I hope one of those kids doesn't decide to run out into the street".
....Sure enough, one of the little toddlers (must've been about 2 or 3) breaks away from Mommy and Daddy in a run, gets to the corner of the plaza, makes a quick turn, and runs right in front of my car before tripping on her feet and falling face down onto the brick street. Thanks to the AWESOME Brembo brakes Chevy puts on the SS, I was able to quickly stop and avoid what could've been a very tragic moment for that young family. In this case, it wasn't my life that the car saved, but someone's child. To the designers, engineers, and plant workers--know this: you saved a life today!

Glad to hear a happy ending. Did you stop and talk to the parents? I'm sure they were grateful.

I'm glad to hear that everything was alright. Every parent has nightmares of their kids running into the street like that... well, I do (did) at least.
I'm always on alert when I'm driving in small squares or parking lots. It burns me up inside to see idiots speeding through parking lots...
