I was reminded of why it’s fun to live in Metro Detroit on Monday night when I pulled into the Jax Car Wash on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak.

As the cashier handed me my receipt, she gushed, “There’s a new Camaro here, and ooh is it sharp!” Sure enough, as I eased my Pontiac G8 around the corner and into line, there was a tomato-red 2010 Chevy Camaro right in front of me - one of the Captured Test Fleet vehicles that GM employees test-drive before the cars go into regular production and are shipped to dealers.

After the rinse and wax cycle, four Jax employees (compared to the normal one or two) rushed over to towel-dry the Camaro while two of their co-workers “supervised” the job. It’s really good to see this car on the streets. If the reaction at Jax was any indication, the Camaro is destined to be a hot-seller!
