Max A/C?
I had my wife thumb through the manual as I was driving but she couldn't find anything about the A/C. There is an A/C setting and then a Max A/C setting and I don't notice any difference between them. Normally the recirculate light would kick on when you go to Max A/C on most vehicles. Does anyone know what going to Max A/C is supposed to do in the Camaro?

From my experience if you turn the AC all the way cold and turn it up (push the little cold button on the left side of the knob) then it'll get cold...and then my MAX AC for me is the recirculate button. Its amazing how much colder it gets when that button is pushed.

The recirculate button is max ac. Recirculate closes off the door that draws the air in from the outside, thus you are re-using the already cool air which is much easier for the system to cool. Thats my understanding anyway.

A lot of cars turn on that recirculate button when you go to Max A/C. The Camaro doesn't do that so I don't know what the point of having two different positions on the knob is.

To the op I am a tech, the max ac words shouldn't be on the control. It doesn't make the record door close. This is the first car I've owned or worked on the is like this. If you don't push the record button it won't recirc. I bet they originally intended it to automatically go to recirculate when you go to max. Not sure why it doesn't.

MAX A/C only works if the fan speed is above the II speed( between II and III etc., recirc. helps if very hot but not needed.

Related note: There is a recall (at least for Camaros made around mine) for the AC. They did the recall when they did my PDIM upgrade.
