2010 Camaro SS - Video after E85 Tune
got my car tuned for E85, runs really well. has much better throttle response and more overall power.

What hardware had to be changed?
Dyno? Flex-fuel or E85 only?

love. my. car.

car sounds awesome, but do you need to switch out some of the plastic fuel parts to avoid corrosion from the E85? I heard it's about $100 in parts on average, but I don't know what parts exactly.

nah thats highly unlikely, it is corrosive but not much more than regular gasoline, gasoline has just as much chance to corrode all the "fuel parts" as E85 does. I could be wrong but I heard that is a rumor that e85 corrodes fuel tanks and what not. If you know other wise or know someone with this problem, please let me know.

![]() Not only that, but it seems like you lose performance with E85...their testings showed that anyways. |

Syntax Error

This is something I have been looking into, but I see no reason to do this to a stock setup for two reasons;
E85 is about 30% less efficient and only about 20% less per gallon than 91 (where I live), so cost per mile is higher. The costs/subsidies and carbon footprint to manufacture E85 VS 91. With that said, my 12:1 427 will be running E85 due to it's higher octane rating. I'd go 93 over E85 if we had it. |

i was reading this, http://www.edmunds.com/fuel-economy/...ison-test.html
it seems it does have a higher octane, but in terms of better for the environment and MPG its not better. they even said they pollute the same. they said the E85 was slower. but was also saying that may be because of how the engine was programmed to run. what i am most interested in is the higher octane level. |

If you run fine on 91-93 octane, you have nothing to gain from a higher octane rating until you increase compression or timing, for the most part.
