164 cars in the system as STOCK orders and heading to build. (3-10-09)

So GM is building stock cars, dealer cars, but not effing sold V6 cars? WTF? Im so sick of this.

The system might just be showing the cars as they are built for the 1 car per dealer (not counting towards their allocation) V6 situation....I wouldn't get worried over it.

They're apparently building only 1 v6 stock order. Somehow it "snuck" through but there constraint on v6's remains due to the "one per dealer" program. Dealers can choose to put in stock orders if they wish instead of customer sold orders as most have.

This is just going to turn into another speculcation fire starting thread that fbod is going to have to put out....I'm guessing he's getting pretty tired of having to do this.

I don't see how... even he himself has said that dealers can put in stock orders if they so choose. Dunno how that one lone LT slipped in but does it matter? It's one car...

What he's listing are stock orders dealers are "slipping in" somehow....the dealers we know as idiots? This should be interesting.

As of the last IDL, I believe 30% of dealers hadn't submitted any customer orders. Some just didn't want to do the preorder game. I believe EVS was actually one of them. I wonder how they're handling their cars...

What the 164 represent is dealerships who are 1.) choosing not to take "sold orders" = SRE. They are entering only "retail stock" = TRE. 2.) Some dealerships are taking customers orders, but entering them as "retail stock" = TRE, some may be "idiots", some may be shady.

If you don't have a signed sales agreement in hand with the price, terms, and whatever else you want in writing, along with a photo copy of your GMworkbench showing your priority number - you could be one of the 164 and don't even know it

Very interesting. Let's see some order numbers on these "stock" cars.

I gotta say, we only put in sold orders. I guess there is a possiblity that all of these units are the "one per dealer" cars that we have no choice in how they get built.

I would like to know the source where the breakdown came from.
