*Mods, I am unsure as to whether I am breaking any rules with doing this, but all I want to do is quote the now locked thread. To answer the unasked question, yes I am manually entering the quotes. I am not quoting user names out of respect for the members whom I'm quoting. Please feel free to lock this thread as well if you see fit. I've had mine up to 133, 19" pzero pirellis

I have a V6 A6 and mine wouldn't go past 147 mph. Something must be wrong with mine everybody is getting 157 outta their V6 lol

My 2011 2LT/RS with the PZero's will definitely go over 140 - and still had plenty of "oomf" left. I did it one morning on the way to work! Of course I had to tell everyone, and guess who was waiting at the end of that long, straight stretch of highway the very next morning? You guessed it, the COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTY! He "caught" me doing 56 mph and the rascal just had to follow me the next 10 miles right up to my workplace parking lot. I DID get the message - I don't "speed test" my Camaro on that particular straight stretch anymore - I don't think I would like to pay the fine for going over 140!

a friend of mine got his ss up to the 155 mark.. his gps said 159... and it wouldnt go any faster.. they stop at 155. this was out in NM on the way back from C5 fest.

My wife has a 1ls and i had that thing up to 135 before i let off. It had way more to go but i ran out of clear road. I don't know what everyone is talking about a 118 mph speed governer on an ls but the wifes car sure as hell went way past that speed.

Now, I'm going to ask you to scroll back up to the top and reread all of these quotes. Why? Because I want to make sure that they have sinked in.

Street racing is stupid. Period. End of story. I don't care if it's an adrenaline rush, I don't care if it is "fun". It's stupid. Accelerating to some the speeds I posted while on a public road is stupid. A question I ask myself before I do any of the fun adventure/extreme hobbies that I have I ask myself: "If I died, right now. What would be the end result."

It doesn't have to be your driving that kills you. You could have an underinflated or overinflated tire and it blows out. An animal could dart out onto the road. You could hit a pothole. A million things could happen. Why take the chance.

I know these cars are fun to drive, and I know that we all have the urge to floor it occasionally. But be smart about it. If you want to go 140 in your camaro then go to a track. They maintain their road and put you in a controlled environment where it is SAFE to drive that speed.

Honestly, if you aren't going to listen to me for yourself listen to me for your mother's sake. You cannot imagine, nor will you ever be able to comprehend the grief and sadness a mother goes through when she has to bury one of her children. Especially a child that was taken from her during some stupid stunt. I don't care if you forget everything in this post, but hang onto this one piece: When a mother is forced to bury her child prematurely she nearly dies herself, and you will never understand how right I am until you have to bury one of your children.

Thank you for not posting a quote from me and not naming members, I agree with you yet I see the point of locking the thread, and don't agree but it's not my site so I'll stay to myself and thank the mods for doing their job by keeping this great forum up and running

It's alright. I edited it. The reason I had that their to begin with was because I can forsee this thread going downhill very quickly and I am trying to avoid that.
