MORE POWER FOR MY L99!?

So I have 2010 2SS(L99). I have 1 7/8 kooks with corsa catback. I have a roto-fab cai(dry filter) and 160 degree thermostat with a tune and I have 360 rwhp. Its not terrible I did that all for around 2800 bucks. I wanna make some more power without camming it if possible because its stupid expensive to do the L99's. if that is my only real option how much am i looking at?

TSP has a VVT DOD friendly kit for$740.00 heres the link http://www.texas-speed.com/p-256-tsp...t-package.aspx Intall on this kit i would guess to be $800-$1000 plus tune but I cant be sure on labor costs.... hopefully someone else will join in and either agree or corect me if I've misslead you on the labor.

you could also look at a UD and ported TB.... or a stall converter (wouldnt give you more power but it would give you better use of the power that you do have)... or theres always nitrous :nos:

dod delete and a cam & valve springs & retune would wake it up for shure for around $3000. to $3500. parts and labor.

Ahhh the LS3 has 26hp more than the L99 stock.

My L99 made 357 at the rear with a RotoFab, Solo exhaust and a SCT Jannetty tune. I added shorties later.

Not only does the LS3 make 26hp more stock but the auto trans also loses more power than the manual m6 loses like 15% an the a6 loses like 18%. The L99 is the lazy mans sports car Dont get me wrong I love a manual car but my girlfriend sometimes drives the car (when we go to the bar and its her turn to DD) and she cant drive a standard and a i wasnt gonna teach her on my new camaro so I got the A6... any way back to the topic...
the L99 cars start off with roughly 30rwhp less than the LS3 cars

Why did you add shorties? They've been proven to reduce HP and tq...

There's really not much HP to be found without adding a cam or going with forced induction.
You could get a ported TB, under drive pully, maybe a water pump, etc but these mods will not do much to add HP.

Your best performance mod at this point is a higher stall converter.

I got an FTI 3200 stall and my car now feels like it has 500+ ft. lbs of torque when I mash the gas from a dead stop or low speed roll. The increase in torque off the line is ridiculous.
Then the problem becomes how do I get this car to hook up.

Lazy mans sports car? Is that right? Then why is it the automatic is always faster when the modding begins? Ignorant posts like this piss me off. Ok, so your grinding manual is faster off the lot....and? If you can drive it worth a poo that is...but youll always be able to throw up the petty excuse that "I missed a gear, let's go again!" but really...the faster cars have automatics...sorry. Ugh!

And yes I see you have an automatic....but the fact is, manual guys have a superiority complex...when in truth, as the cars get faster....the manual is slower.

The LS3 makes more peak RWHP but the VVT L99 makes more power under the curve which is why the A6 can hang with the M6 in 0-60 and ¼ mile times with less HP and more drivetrain loss. The A6 gearing helps too. If I had an LS3 I’d look to add VVT.

Best mod for an auto car without doing a Cam is the torque converter. This was my favorite mod on my old Camaro.

(SBR) Sounds like you do not want to go INTO the motor, so, when you do a mild torque convertor and the exhaust and driveshaft are out of the car then it would be easy to add rear gears. 3:70's would be a great choice or perhaps for less money get the 3:45's out of a LS-3 car. Just another way to make your car quicker through gearing rather than motor work.
