V6 Air Intake

Hey guys does a cold air intake make that big of a difference with the camaro? Do you have to do any maintanence to the intake over time? And which is the best brand? Thanks!

First of all yes it is a HIGHLY recomended mod. 2 they all have maintainence, but no more than any other air filter, it has to be cleaned periodically. 3 check out the study in the sticky up top on independent tests for the CAI's. You will notice that vararam is not on there it is a new product and may be the best out there by a few HP. It also has a design that brings in air over radiator giving a ram effect. There is a quite extensive thread on it and you may have to wait a few weeks as it is just being released and they are still filling preorders

There are Dyno videos that show gains on here and YouTube. I have the long tube InJen setup on mine and my Dyno day showed gains but not the 16-18 HP claim . Great sound and some gas mileage gains. That is if you can keep your foot out of it after the install.

Any one had any check engine lights turn on with the Intake? I have one and my Automatic Engine start not working. I'm guessing I must of put the sensor the wrong way as that is what most have said in the forum. What I don't understand is that what does that have to do with the Automatic Engine not to start. Been having my intake for about a week using it the car around 30-40 miles around my house. But just got back from a 3-4 hour drive and 108 degrees over there is when I notice that the check engine light turn on. And in the same time my remote start was not working I didn't notice any problems with the car on the way back just the light.

It did help out a lot adding the Intake I could easy feel more power and feels that it can breath now.

The Autostart won't work with a CEL if my memory serves me correct. What intake do you have?

Oh yeah, It makes a difference! I love my CAI inc. It looks nice, is insulated/ceramic coated, No CEL issues, no tune needed, no re-location of water bottle........ Sounds great, better gas mileage, easy to install...............need I go on? Here are pics & video (BTW I also have Borla exhaust).

My Vararam made a Huge difference... I got a CEL, but it was because I forgot to plug in the MAF. It went away once I plugged it in.

- On a V6 you will see 16 HP to the wheels with our system. (Thats on a Dyno with the hood closed)
- You will notice improved Throttle response
- Better Sound at WOT
- Better Fuel Economy
- A lifetime use oiled filter which means you never have to purchase another air filter again
- LIFETIME WARRANTY - THOUSANDS SOLD

Here are a few things about our intake that make it different from others:

: Tig welded aluminum air box (high luster finish reflects radiant heat)

: Insulated air box (this adding another layer of thermal (convection) protection)

: Aluminum lid with stainless steel ¼ turn fasteners (fast filter removal)

: Viewing window for fast easy filter inspection.

: High Luster ceramic coated intake tube (coated inside and out, yet another layer of thermal protection)

: Smooth bore (88.9 mm) intake tube construction (this minimizes bends and restrictions within the system)

: 8” V-stack air filter with built in velocity stack (helps reduce turbulence for truer MAF reading)

: 8 layer air filter (maximizing filtration for prolonged engine life

Let me know if you have any questions. The only bad thing about our system is that its rarely in stock due to it being so popular, so you might have to wait about a week to get it, but trust me its worth it!!
