Build Date Questions
According to my Build Sheet, my car's "build date" is 04/15/11. And the front suspension has a couple decals that show 04/15/11 also. (See attached). However the removable trunk carpet/tire-cover (ok, so there's no tire there) has a yellow sticker that says 05/06/11. I would assume that this piece would have a date code earlier than the car build date. Also under the plastic engine cover, it says "Date Code 11055". Does that translate to 05/05/11? Maybe most people don't care... Admittedly, I am a bit of a numbers freak/geek.

The 4/15 date is probably on quite a few of your suspension parts... which would be smak in the middle of your build on the assembly line so your build sheet is probably dead on.

If I remember right, a video I watched said that the front suspension sticker actually had a time stamp on it in addition to the date that was about 4 hours before it rolls off the line. I'd also expect that carpet and engine cover to be one of the last things put on the car. I wonder if they are even installed before the car is PDI'd at the dealership. They may be like the floor mats and front plate and just be packaged up and stored in the car since the dealership has to get to the engine and battery area to do their checks. Can anyone confirm this?

I was at Oshawa Meet on June 10-12 and also at Martinrea plant for the suspension assembly line.
We where told that the date on the suspension part is generally on the car about 4 hours after it's been assembled. So that is the real production date of the car.

![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, as you say adding 4 hours to the time on the front suspension label you get approx. when the drivetrain and body were "married" in the middle of the Oshawa plant before the assembly line turns the corner, fluids are filled, car is started & then inspected.
