MRT 1.0 Exhaust Installation

I was wondering which way I should get my MRT 1.0 exhaust installed. Should it be with the clamping or welding? Not really sure the difference between each but would assume that the welding would cost a bit more.
Thanks

Depends on your local shops...My usual exhaust guy's shop charges time and a half for pre-designed kit installation. Run down to your local shop and get some estimates for welded installation as opposed to doing it yourself at home.

I just clamped it on myself... didn't want to get it welded until I knew I'd be happy. I'm thinking about getting some DT shorties and having them both welded at the same time.

I'll probably go with the clamping then.. I think I read somewhere that with it being clamped the pipes or something with the exhaust can shift? I may be wrong but just checking.

Yes if you do clamp them and do NOT clamp them tight enough then they can shift a bit. Usually it is the passenger side that shifts. However, if you have them sticking out passed the diffuser about 3/8" to 7/16" and tighten the clamps as much as possible (it is a good idea to have someone help you at this point; they hold the tips center in the opening while you wrench away) then you will not have any problems. You can refer to my threads about installation and spacing distances. I have them re-situated and clamped tight now and they have not moved since. If you do decide to weld them I would not pay more than $100.

Welded. IMHO. Never have to worry about them moving again. I don't plan to change them out so easy choice for me.

Thanks for the advice.. I'm considering to just go ahead and weld them on. Hopefully the place I decide to take it to isn't to expensive. I would be happy with around $80 but yes like you said benning 100 and over would be a little too much
