Passenger seat back release - hard

Since new, the passenger seat back release has been hard to operate but the driver side is easy. Tech checked another new Camaro, on the lot and it was the same. He just exersized it several times and it loosened up a lot. Still not as easy as the driver's but a whole lot better. Wife could hardly operate it. Showed the Service mgr assistant and she could not operate it either.

push back a little on the headrest as you lift the handle. takes some of the tension off of the release and makes it a little easier.

Both of mine are the same way. Like was said before, push back on the seat, and the latch comes open easier. Could be a problem in a wreck for someone trying to get out, though.

I found that the more vertical the seat back is, the easier it is to operate.

Its the latch the releases the seat back so that it can be leaned forward. Allowing access to rear seats.

I know that u can move the seat back a little making it easier but that is not needed if the latch is working correctly.

Its weard that is seems to be the passenger seat more than the drivers.

I got this too! But mine is on the driver's side. The passanger side opens up perfect every time. You need hercules arms to open the driver's. I'm scared to put too much force into it because it's plastic.

It also helps to pull straight back on the latch, rather than towards the side where you're standing (which is the natural tendency). Whenever it doesn't immediately release, I push back on the seat and then pull straight back and it always works smoothly. My kids still have trouble with them sometimes - I think its harder for them to pull straight back.

I thought it was a pretty weird location to have the seat release. My VW's have it on the side and it's more natural to release them that way. Even as a passanger it's very natural to release the seats. But I guess it makes the interior look cleaner.

My Passenger side is like that also. I think it is time for some silicone spray and see if that helps.
