97 z28 vs 2006/2007 mustang gt?
my 97 z28 has a new motor, k&n intake, and true dual exhaust and is auto. the mustang either has a cold air intake and exhaust and is a manual or is stock and a manual but idk. how would this end?

Guess you got the LT1 huh? Well i used to own a 06 GT. So I know a little. The 06 gt has about 15more Hp stock. I think it weighs a little more though. But you got more torque down low. I think you will get him off the line and the stang will slowly start to pull after 60. But you never know. Maybe he cant drive for his life? If you had long tubes in it id give the race to you

well now that i think about it most stock 06 Gts run 13.9 Manual. Your car does maybe 14.2 14.1? I think it should be a drivers race. 13.9 In a stock 06 GT is a good driver with a manual trans. I really think its a drivers race. Get it off the line and hope for the best. If you lose dont feel bad. I was smoked by A honda crx running 18psi.

I can't tell you ow an LT1 will fare against a one.. but I stomped my buddy in his 07 GT with my LS1. It has exhaust and a few other bultons if i'm not mistaken. Mine is just cat-back

![]() Only experience I've had was against my buddies '07 Mustang GT, 5 speed/3:55 rear gear, ORX, factory mufflers, CAI, and tuned. I would usually keep my front bumper on his rear bumper and stay there. He ran an 8.6 in the 1/8. My car was a '97 Z28, a4, 3:23, shorties, no emissions/cats, custom 2.5" true duals with x-pipe, CAI, and untuned. So depending on mods between the both of you, it could be a good race. I never raced any stock 3-valve cars but it shouldn't be a problem. Pulled plenty of bolt-on 2-valves but those are a joke.

![]() My UNBIASED opinion- driver's race. Stick it to him and you'll get him by 3/4 of a car.

Its deff a drivers race. When I had my 06 GT me and my friend where on and off when it came to winning. both where stock. But after I got a Bama tune on the stang he got smacked every time. I do think the stang will pull though

If you don't blow your tires off the rims upon take off then you should pull him pretty well up to around 60-70mph.

no. the 4.6 has an advantage but it wont completely own a LT1. more of a driver's race. LT1 has a better shot in the 1/8
