Poor visibility is worrying me.
Pretty much every review of the 2010 Camaro has the same two gripes. One is the "cheap plastic" interior. I'm not really trippin' over that. The one consistent gripe is the poor visibility from the cockpit. One says that rearview mirror is practically useless. Another said that your view out the windshield is like looking through a mail slot.
But the view I'm MOST concerned with is over the shoulder. It seems that it's useless looking over your shoulder and you have to use the side mirrors. I'm accustomed to looking over my shoulder (especially on the passenger side) since in Maryland, passing on the right is a sadly common driving technique. Am I the only one here concerned about it? I know we have to wait to actually experience and get accustomed to it, but since it a near-universal complaint, I'm curious as to others' opinions. |

Have you ever driven a Camaro?
It wouldn't be a Camaro without blind spots. |

I'm sure it could not be any worse than the blind spots in my Blazer and I'm able to live with those just fine.

Poor visibility
If your worrying about poor visibility then you shouldn't be getting a Camaro.
You need to buy a mini-van! (baby van) if thats what your looking for. Every Camaro(1993 and 1997) I've owned has had poor visibility. There not known for that!! Even my Pontiac G6 GTP two door coupe has poor visibility! Let me ask you...... does any cool looking two door car have good visibility? NO!! Enough said! ![]() |

I use my mirrors almost exclusively when I drive. I only have to check my shoulder if my mirror tells me something's there.

When I bought my 95' Camaro, it took a few horn honks to train me to look carefully while making left hand lane changes on the freeway.

It wouldn't be a pony car without blindspots...Standard practice, get used to using mirrors.

All the 2+2 sports coupes have horrible blind spots, it's form over function, the G8 puts function over form, there is that choice.
The high, smallish side windows are certainly restrictive as well. The G8 has more conventional side windows as well. I want the less practical Camaro, personally.

when i drove a couple f-bodies, they both had bigger blind spots than i figured a car that size should (the 92 not being as bad as the 97), but it wasn't really that bad. nowhere near as bad as a 3000GT or anything.

Mrs Number 3 is 5' 2" and has no problem. Yes there is a low roof high belt but drive it for 5 minutes and you won't hardly notice.

I mentally track every car within a given distance of me.
