speed limiter on ls v-6

I am curious I am going to be changing tires soon , and since I am considering Z rated tires I was woundering does anyone make a programmer that will change the speed limiter on my 2011 LS V-6? I was hoping to find the thread already on here but I just havent seen it. Maybe I didnt go back far enough. Thanks for any help you all might give me !

I was wondering if the speed limiter was programmed threw the TPMS. I was a passenger in another Camaro LS with 22" rims and no sensor's and the car got up too 130 mph before we came up on some traffic and had too slow down. I thought the LS was limited too 118.

My LS is NOT limited. I had that thing at 135 before having to slow down. And it had more to go.

mine is limited to 118 . I have a buddy that has an lt1 and his is limited to 145 ! The only difference we can find is he has z rated tires and auto I at this time have tires rated to 118 and a manual trans! Thats why I was curious if I changed over to the Z rated tires if the speed limiter could be changed to the 145 setting ?

All LS's come with a 118 limiter, unless you were able to get the 20" rims with the higher rated tires from the factory.

And yes, trifecta tune. google it.

As far as I know the speed limiter is set at 155 MPH on all SS's and V6 Camaro's with the factory equipped 20" wheels and Pirrelli tires. A tune can be made to change the limiter but will void the warranty.

LTs with 19" tires are limited at 155 too.

The LS has 18" and is limited at 118.

Dont tune the ECU, just get a BCM change.
The BCM will not affect your warranty.

Also stock maximum speed for the V6 Camaro is 146 MPH. This was taken from a magazine article. I think there is a video of a V6 Camaro doing 146 or 147. As far as tire size that is correct. So once the tires are upgraded then have the BCM changed or live dangerous and change the BCM. Although exploding tires at 118 MPH will kill occupants.
