Trade Low VIN 10 2LT for 10 2SS? Good Deal?
**EDIT* Took Delivery of my new 2SS today 8/10/11
let me preface this with... I do love my Rally Yellow 2LT. As you can see from my signature it is very low production number. A9100165. It is a 6speed manual, Sunroof, NON RS car. I stopped by my local dealer today to see their 2012 2SS 'Vert that they got in stock to see how the steering wheel and IP inserts look. i do like it overall but my eye was sidetracked to a certified used 2010 2SS/RS in Inferno Orange with the IO Leather seats. It looks to be fairly stock other than flat black (vinyl) rally stripes. MS Wheels, MN6 (LS3), no sunroof. Not a swirl mark on the car, looks like the previous owner either babied it, or the dealership spent 6hrs washing and waxing it.... Clean Carfax, car is from Indiana, no significant service issues... I have 12,000 Miles on my V6, and so does the V8. 12,000 mi The difference in price after negotiation would make my payments 100 more a month. i do think its a very fair price for the car (About 30k)... i just really need opinions. before anyone asks, i CAN afford the 100 a month. it will take eating out a LITTLE less each month, etc. but it will not wreck my budget i have myself on. am i being foolish thinking my car is valuable because it's vin 165? it's not even a R6P car, just low vin retail stock. So it comes down to.... in YOUR opinion, what should i do. P.S. Inferno Orange and Black are my 2 fav colors, yellow ok...but i just got a good deal on it.

Yes! You are being foolish about the vin. It's not going to mean anything to the next buyer so don't worry about it. Bottom line: you want an SS, get yourself an Ss!

Get the SS if you can afford it, you want regret it I didn't. Anyway I think if any of these are going to be collectible it will be the SS'S. Either way you will have a great car these V6's aren't like the old ones, they have plenty of power.

Low VIN is meaningless to anyone except you. Is the dealer willing to offer you more for it because of the low VIN. No. It is simply a V6 for SS choice. The answer to all of these threads is........wait for it..........wait.............wait for it............YES!
If you are considering it, it is because you have given it some thought. If you say no to this deal, the next one will get you. You will never be truely happy with your V6 again. Some people are very happy with their V6 and don't want anything more. GREAT! Once you entertain the thought however, it is done. Before someone asks, no I am not a psychiatrist but I have been treated by one for years. |
