Burning Smell started Friday
My car has just under 18k miles on it. I noticed an acrid burning smell on Friday. I can't determine the location of the smell, but it reminds me of burning electronics or rubber (then again, it could be anything).
I just crawled under my car, based upon some of the other threads here, and I can't see any stuck on bags or other plastic materials. I've also thoroughly checked the engine compartment and I don't see any oil or other fluid leaks. I also don't have any oil leaks underneath the car, after parking it for awhile. Here's the odd thing - If I drive it for 10-15 minutes solid, I'll get the smell after I park. However, driving 5 minutes down the road, I don't notice it when I park. Not sure where to go from here, since this is my Daily Driver and I don't feel like paying for a rental car while GM figures out the issue. Any thoughts??

Does the smell coincide with turning the air conditioning on and off? Sometimes the hot air after cold air has a smell. Just checking.

Possible heater core if it smells in the interior.
Open the glove box and look through the left rear corner for signs of leaking.

I had a similar issue where a small bit of road tar attached itself to part of my exhaust. I'd start to smell something burning after a good 10 minutes since it'd take that long for the tar to heat up and start to burn.
