So yeah my Asian friend Keeps bugging me to race him in his Subaru WRX Manual (Non STi), He got it a month ago and is a new stick driver, but always calls me a wimp because i don't feel like racing him at the moment. And I am a proud owner of a 2010 Camaro V6 Team LLT

, Should i or Should i not? Regular Street or Track Race if it comes down.

My upgrades are listed in my signature, I'm helping him install his new system too he says he will gain 60 HP, and he car comes stock with 1 turbo and its a 4 cylinder and his top speed is 140 MPH.

So what is your judgment guys?

You didnt specify if he is an STi or not or the tranny. If he is a 4EAT (auto) and NOT and STi then you stand a chance. Sti and Manual, decline the challenge.

I vote on the track only too BTW

Depending on the year, he may take you. On a track, of course. The brand-new ones can run low 13s with a capable driver, or mid-high 13s with an average one.

My hubby did the same, as he has an Evo8 with the turbo. I beat him off the line every time with my manual V6 LLT, and then his turbo spools up on his manual 4-cylinder and he flies right by me.

If it's an STi you'll get your butt handed to you. They are on par with my 4th gen.

No Sti just regular WRX , i dont know any tracks in texas plus dont know how much they cost. Hes new in manual as it is got it a month ago.

well just a FYI, even if some of us street race we cant even talk about it here or the thread will be deleted or person will be warned.

If its one of the new WRXs he will walk you if he can drive properly. If its an older one he will still probably beat you UNLESS you do a roll. From a roll at like 30 mph you should take him by about half a car or a car.

The new 2011 WRXS still might take you from a roll though.

lets say your going to the track, if its the new WRX non STI. He will take you. Those do 0-60 in 4.7 with only 250hp

Heh what about if after i get my BBK or JBA Longtube Headers with Cats , and my new throttlebody with trifecta tune will i be able to take him on then? Oh and my nurburgring wheels coming in september.
