where do I begin.. I think I may have been better off dealing with the rub marks. The new top is horrible! I am so disappointed.
1. The Upholstery guy who replaced the top suggested using rivets instead of screws. The rivets are not holding (PICTURE # 1). 2. I have a loose strap hanging over my passengers shoulder when the top is up (PICTURE # 2). 3. I have horrific wind noise when driving with the top up. I bragged to people before about how quiet the car was when driving with the top up. 4. When the top is down one side sits approx 2” lower than the other side (PICTURE # 3). 5. When the top is down the fabric used to be tight and lay flat – it is now loose (PICTURE # 4) 6. Upon inspection I have found random pieces of felt squares that are falling off from somewhere inside the top frame. Upholstery guy told me he was wrapping the brackets with felt to reinforce the screw/rivet heads so they wouldn’t rub. I thought he was doing more than sticking a felt square over them. 7. When the top is up, the headliner is pulling away from the frame above the drivers window exposing the frame (PICTURE # 5) 8. When the top is up, there are large gaps between the headliner and the car interior near the back seats and the headliner is wrinkled where it used to be smooth and flat (PICTURE # 6). 9. And last but not least… WEAR/RUB MARKS on passenger side (PICTURE # 7). 10. The drivers door sounds different now than it used to when closing it. Almost like the glass is hitting the car frame. I also noticed that when the window goes up when you close the door, the rubber weather stripping folds up into itself. It did not do this before. So I suppose the next step is taking the car back yet again. I do know I am not taking the car back for the top issue until a true and tested fix is found or the entire top is replaced

Why is a "upholstery Guy" repairing this??? Shouldn't a new top from GM be ordered and installed by techs at your dealer????

Most Dealership service dept do not have experience in replacing tops. This is the same at my dealership and why I keep putting this off ! At least my dealership owns up to the fix for this is not right yet and won't do my top till he is sure it is correct from GM.

Wow that is so horrible.. I think that some of the things people have had to deal with gm should replace the whole car

Pinked- That is just downright shoddy work.
You new rub marks look almost as bad as my first top after 4 months of top down driving. I'm sure you're going to but that needs to get back to dealer ASAP. |

Wow! THAT was done at / through an authorized GM facility?! I'm really sorry this happened to you. THAT, should not be.
Please contact GM and your dealer to get this repaired correctly and so that this will never happen to anyone else.

Wow that is absolutely awful! From my own experiences I too am finding extreme wind noise from the rear passenger side that's clearly was never there before, and it's currently in now for the new tsb 4 the marks.
However your situation is absolutely unacceptable!
