Painting OEM wheels price?

Ok guys I went to a local shop here in Oklahoma (not gonna say what shop) today and asked how much would it cost to get my rims powdercoated. and the guy that owns the shop told he doesn't do wheel powdercoating but instead he said "I just tape the Tires and paint the wheels with paint I use for the body of the car" so I wus like ooooookkkaayyy. and then I asked so how much would that cost? (I wus expecting like $200-$300 since its not powdercaoting) he quoted me $800 for 1 color and $1000 with pin striping! what do you guys think? I thought that wus an insanely ridiculous price!!

I Know there's some guys here that got their wheels powder coated and wheels mounted and balanced for $500. $800 for a non powder coated wheel is pretty damm high IMO.

Local shop to me does powder coating for $100 (all 4). Gotta bring the bare rims, it's not a car shop.
