OK guys, with my recent incident, I am gonna be changing things from factory (unless they total it).
New front vented fenders, probably a T3 bumper, and hopefully a new hood. I think I've decided on the RKSport Ram Air Hood with an SLP fascia scoop filler (blended in and painted, cause they look ridiculous as is), but I have a few questions: I've read about every post concerning this hood, so I've seen there have been some fitment problems (specifically right front). Does anybody know if these problems are still going on? Or have the imperfections kinda fixed themselves? Also, how rigid and secure is the hood while down? I road race a lot (on a track), and see speeds up to 140mph while doing it. Anybody had their RKSport hood up near those speeds for any amount of time? Any fluttering, or lifting, or anything noticed? Also, how well does the ram air really work? It looks like its definitely not a smooth, high flow system to the air filter area (which is completely understandable). Looks like the scoop opening is pretty small, so is there really that much air that gets to the filter? Are the ram air and heat exchange ducts connected? I've seen Mindz's diagram (great BTW), but still have questions about it. If I got this hood, would it be worth it from a ram air point of view to drop my Vararam and get an Airaid, or another open top intake? Thanks everyone!

I have this hood and I can tell you I have seen my engine temps drop by a little bit. The intake channels the air to you CAI and no the heat extractors are not connected to the intake. There are two separate holes under the hood that sit right above the rear of the heads. I have gone 120 with this hood and had no problems.

I have heard they have a full carbon fiber one now. I would suggest getting that one.

Cool, thanks. So it is a pretty decent quality hood then? Do you have to close it gently, does it bend or flex as you pull it down?
I've seen the Carbon Fiber Blister hood (which I'm planning on), but it only has the scoop part of it as carbon fiber. Do you know of a full carbon fiber somewhere?

I have this hood and I had issues with the fitment on the front right. It sticks up just slighty, bothered me at first but not a big deal now. As for the new open top intake, I think if you are getting this hood you mine as well get an intake that can take advantage of the ram air. The hood is pretty sturdy, I haven't noticed any flexing or bowing and I've had mine to 117. Here is a pic of the front right.

It seems that RK Sport stiil hasn't fixed there problems with alignment issue's. I bought mine will over 1 1/2 years ago..Hood sticks up front left corner, and also front right corner, close to the door area..Every hood that I've seen by RK Sport seems to have the same issue's some worst then others..
As far as speed I also road race, speed is not a issue, I just got back from running Daytona International Speedway....Very high speed. Best of luck.
