SS Fog lights

Ok Nub question. I recently purchased my 2010 SS Used and It came with no Manual. I have downloaded my manual and read most of it. However i still have one question.

I have the HID lights and I love them but why don’t I have an option to turn on or off my Fog lights or turn them on along with my normal lights? I see in the manual where you push the center button for Fog lights but My SS does not have that option. There is no push the only time my Fog's are on is when the Auto lights are on and it’s too light outside for the HID's to come on. So essentially the Fog lamps are only Daytime running lights? Is that the case or was mine Mod’ed somehow?

You dont have fogs. You have daytime running lights as you have the hid. The drls will come on automatically.

+1. And just to add, you have no control over the DRL's unless you add an aftermarket option/harness.

You can however rotate the dial to the right to manually turn on the halos and ahut off the drls. I do all the time.

Yes but I also would like an option to have it all on, the Halos and drls on at the same time.

You will need a special harness to do that i believe. Look in the diy section for options to do that.

This is correct. I can have my DRL's on or off when my headlights or halos are on.

Here is a link to the harness, contact the OP for buying options:

Here is a cheaper way to do it as well. People have done it this way with no issues, I pesonally don't like it becasue of the potential backfeed.

This is one thing I dont like about the RS package. I have blackouts on my HID lights so on cloudy days the HIDs comd on auto so I either have to remove the covers, run w no lights or take a chance and burn a hole thru my covers. Sounds easy to remove the covers but its really a pain. May have to change the harness...

I cannot see them heating up that much that they would burn the covers. With that said, why not put a set of blackout tints on them. I have them on mine and have no issues at all.

The covers look better, IMO. I get a ton of compliments on them. They say not recommended to use w HID so Im guessing that it can happen. I dont drive at nite so cloudy, rainy days r my only concern.

I agree the cover look great! I used to have the on my old T-Bird and loved them.

On a side note, I did not notice you were referring to your headlights, I thought you were talking about your DRL's. I can certainly understand your heat concern with the HL.

Theres also a thread around here somewhere with soldering the DRL's to the HL's I think so they come on when the halos are on or when the Headlights are on, its a super easy mod, and I think its the only way to get them to come on at night if u have the RS package
