Touch up paint

The GM paint for SIlver Ice MEtallic is WA636R.....does not match....

Called switchblade silver metallic

Read some past threads but have not found anything that matches or solves problem....

Also appears this paint on car is thin ?

Any suggestions on paint that matches ?

The paint REALLY SUCKS on these cars, every time I wash my car I find another chip or two. I buy a new car every two years or so and have never had this problem with a car. Don't get me wrong I love my car just crappy paint.

Most of them do match if you apply. Add clear then buff / polish. Clearcoat changes the shade of paint substantially.

Yep, paint sucks on these cars. And I got black.

Oh well. No one said owning this car would come cheap.

I really don’t think the paint is all that bad. Without looking too creepy, the next time you go shopping, really check out the pain on the cars in the lot. If you are going to drive, it’s inevitable that you will get a chip. I’ve had my car over 2 years and it has 35K miles on it. Winters are the worst. I have a few small chips but overall, I think my paint still looks pretty sweet. If you don’t get a clear bra, I’d recommend constant care of wax/polish. My thinking is that any large debris hitting your car at 70mph is more likely to glance off than catching onto a piece grime on the paint.

Touch up paint

Appreciate all of your comments....chips are small and only notice if up close but of course I know they are there, have 3000 miles, had it two months and very careful, keep in my shop with nothing around it.

Have 2010 Ford truck, 10000 miles, Pearl white, no chips, paint perfect everywhere. PAint is solvent based...not water based...

It's almost impossible to get touch up paint with metallic in it to match up to the paint on the car when you just brush it on. Meaning There is no flow to the metallic flake when brushed on .

Touch up paint

Yes,

Took it to best body shop in town.... Agee with your comment....almost impossible to match via brush...repaint panels will lower original value, ie;
Not original...

Not sure what answer is yet ?
