Temp or gas

I got my Maro in August, 100+ degrees. The car was fast but wouldnt spin the wheels. Oh yeah, its the Auto V6. This past week the temp changed and we are now in the 60's and 70's during the day. I can now smash it and actually spin the tires, not only spin 'em but the car even skids sideways! I have ran 87 in it until the last fill up when I switched to 91. What has helped the most, gas or temp, or is it both?

Just a warning you are going to get flamed for referring to your Camaro as your Maro....

There really is no gain in performance from switching fuel with the V-6 it is a waste of money for you. It was probably the temps. Tires like the P-Zeros are not as grippy in cold weather and they need the heat to stick. Tire pressure also can change the way your tires grip. For you to use higher octane fuel you need to start modding your engine to the point where you need to use high octane fuel, but if your car is stock just save the money with regular.

And the air is denser at colder temperatures adding a noticable power increase
