O man, help me choose.....HPT or efi live

Man Im bearing myself up over this. I don't know which to choose. I've been going back and forth between the two for a month now. I'm ready to do it...but can't make up my mind. Here's some things about it:

-Let's pretend they are the same price...the cost doesn't matter to me.
-I have an efi live tune in there now, my tuner is only 1 minute from my work and he said if I get efi live he will help me. I've emailed efi live and never received an answer yet on questions I have. So that's a negative on support. HPT, returns my email usually within an hour or two. We've been going back and forth for a couple days (lots of questions) and he's been super patient with me. So that's a huge plus.
-efi live have a free custom operating system that allows nitrous and boost controls. HPT does not have nitrous parameters. I'm doing this whole tuning thing around the fact that I'm installing nos eventually.
-I can run down the street and get the efi live right now and not have to wait (no big deal) But if I have problems setting it up, I have someone willing to help in person.
Credits seem to cost more with efi live.

I don't know which way to go. Also, I'm going to run into issues getting started with HPT on my NetBook. There demo software doesn't even work so I haven't been able to play with it. Efi live works no problem. Damn

I myself prefer HP tuners and if there was an option to pick between EFI and HP, it would be HP in a heartbeat. Simple reason is because I know HP and have good experience with the program. I say go with what you are more comfortable with. It look like you will get more out of EFI in your situation. Both one hell of a program.

I love efilive. Have had it since v1. Have tuned about 90ish rides. The recently went up on licenses to 125. Their ecm support and tuning is awesome. Their t43 support is lacking some of the parameters that hpt has. I run no tq mgt so efilive suits my needs on the t43. I thought about buying HP just to have a better trans tuning option but am hoping efilive releases more cals......

So HPT have better Trans tuning capability? Hmmm. Almost sounds like I may end up need both?

I and I noticed the credits went up in price. Which isn't a factor right now, but may be in the future. I'm sure HPT will follow suit, only a matter of time.

So I have one efi live vote and one HPT.

At this point, they have more trans parameters. Mainly tq mgt tables that allow more of a reduction in tq mgt rather than just a selection of on or off like in efilive.

HPT will do everything you need and is WAY more user friendly. I cannot stand the tree style editor of EFI Live either.

You don't need a custom OS to run nitrous or boost. I've done both on numerous Camaros and other platforms without issue.

HPT is incredibly easy to set up.

I prefer the layout of EFILive; it's more intuitive to me. Also EFILive let's you adjust the Virtual VE Table inside the software; where HPT you have to export and import the values into a different software to do the same.

I only use HP Tuners.

EFI isnt a bad system, but HP Tuners is set up easier to use. With that in mind, Both take alot of skill because of all the parameters that can be changes and ruin your car by accident.

Lets say your tuner a very skilled and your happy with your every day tune, but also want to spray every oncein a while. The best concept for you may be picking up a cheap hand held unit like SCT and store your everyday tune and store a NO2 tune for the fun days, and switch back and forth. That would be an easier and safer option if you trust your tuner.

If you want to overcome the tuning curve, I enjoy HPT.

That is what I want to do. But how do I load tunes to the sct? That would be so much easier than bring my laptop. If you can lend me some insight on this...it will greatly help and make my decision easier. Thx. Pm me if need be.

You can't load tunes onto SCT with HP Tuners.
