Different Shades of Inferno Orange?

Something I noticed yesterday at the local car show. The shade of Inferno Orange on the 2010 Camaros appears to be a shade lighter than on the 2011s. Not that it bothers me because the 2011 appears more red being darker, but am the only one noticing this? I attached two pictures from yesterday. The first is my 2010 and the second is a club members 2011:

No two cars are going to be the exact same color... and if you're basing it off the pictures it could be numerous things from the lighting to the angle, etc.

There was also another 2010 at the show (which I don't have a pic of in the light) where the shade appears to be the same as mine. Didn't the Summit White cars have something similar between 10/11?

My IOM goes from orange to tomato red depending on the light. I recently had some hail damage repaired and they perfectly matched my IOM color. I suspect you're seeing the effect of different light.

Here is one of mine from the same show. I was 2 spots down from the 2011 and took the photos 5 minutes apart at the same angle. The only thing is that my hood is open.

I highly doubt they changed the paint in one year, the really cool thing is that the color of IOM changes depending on the way the sun hits it, you may have been a victim of that.

The quality of your camera is a huge factor in capturing fine variances in the tint of IOM. As I understand it, the direction of the flop plays a role as well.

Just to add...the inferno orange stripes on my white ss, are only "orange" at high-noon!.....thanks, mhood, I'm gonna borrow "tomato red" to describe what color they are 90% of the time!...lol

The special colors all shift in different light, also, there can be minute differences from humidity, temperature, time of year, whatever, that can affect a paint job.

He may have even had body work, i wouldnt think too far into it
