Reduced Enging Output warning, Service Department at a loss

I've been having a problem with my 2010 RS for the past 4 weeks and have taken it to get serviced 4 times already.

When driving (usually when accelerating) I'll get a "Service Stabilitrack" followed by "Service Parking Assist" followed by the check engine light. Then I get "Reduced engine output" and the car will sputter and almost stall as it tries to shift gears.

I was told the car is throwing out so many codes the "internal computer" is overwhlemed and cannot focus on shifting gears. Consequently I'll be nearly flooring it, but going only 45mph with 7000rpm as the car has difficutly shifting gears.

Has this happened to anyone else? The Service Depatment guys have called GM tech support and apparently this problem hasn't been reported. Worst of all, it happens sporadically, so unless they can get the car to reproduce the same issues (which they haven't been able to do despite putting about 200miles on my car) they say they can't fix it, because there are too many codes and they can't tell which one is the actual problem.

Any suggestions?

If you still have a warranty follow these steps

Step one: Have the dealership fix ALL the codes the computer has.
Step two: Drive fixed car

JSick,
Thanks, but I already did that 3 times.
Every time they "fix" or address all the codes and give me back the car, I drive it a couple days and it happens again.

Huge problem on GM cars. I would put money on a short. Any short usually triggers the limp mode which is probably the dumbest thing on the planet. My wifes car would get this when it snowed or rained. I took epoxy and poured it over all electric connections that I could and it hasn't done it since. The short her car was having was related the the gas pedal and ecm connection. A short would cause a voltage difference between the two. Since they messure throttle off of voltage now, when their is a difference you get limp mode. Before I got it fixed my wife would drive with my obd2 code scanner. When it would go into limp mode she would pull over and erase the codes and go. Not sure if this is the same problem you're having but the scanner helps and it's most likely a short similar to what we had.

They are giving you a bunch of bull on "the computer overwhelmd so cant shift".

In reduced power mode (limp mode) the car is in a protect mode so you can still drive somewhat. They should know this.

I suspect a bad connection on a wheel sensor, TB harness, or trans related. Not hard to diagnose or repair if you get to a dealer with skilled techs that know what they are doing.

DrSpange, you may want to try having the vehicle checked over by another dealer just to see if new eyes on the subject might shed some light and help with getting this issue resolved for you. If you don't have any other close dealers to you let me know and I'll do what I can to help with this.
