WTB-2010-11 SS A6 Standing Offer

Its wierd there's so much price compression in the market with the 5G camaros.....
Used 2010s SSs are $27-30K, 2011s are in the same bracket generally.

A dealer offered me a 2012 1SS A6 for $31K yesterday.....2SS for $34.....both brand new.

I'm going to use the car for a club car project so I'm trying to stay away from new.....but the price difference is almost negligable.

So I will pay $25K cash is anyone wants to sell a 2010+ 1SS or 2SS with an auto trans......color can't be orange and the warranty needs to be intact.

PM me if you want to sell

Just as an FYI....price compression leads to expansion and I doubt if the 2012's will drop below the 2010 prices.

PS....I'll pay more if the car has the Pfadt high end coilovers installed.

Update:
I will pay $30 via paypal to the first person who takes their 2010 SS A6 Camaro to Carmax and posts the cash offer document in this thread. I know $30 isn't a lot but its a lunch or a cheap movie night, and the process usually only takes 30 minutes.

I'm trying to establish a benchmark for pricing. Carmax is the largest buyer and seller or used cars in the world and they document cash offers to buyers for used cars.

KBB and Dealer trade in prices are irrelevant. If you post your car on the internet, you are only looking for cash for your car. There are only two sources of cash for a used car, dealers and private parties. Dealers will pay what I call "wholesale cash spot" and the best source of this price is Carmax. I as a private party will pay 10-15% higher than wholesale cash, and I think that is about where I am at $25K.

Just looking for a documented benchmark. If I'm wrong I'll consider raising my price.

General comment: A car is a depreciating asset, if you are looking to sell your car, every day you wait, your car decreases in value. Even if its sits in the garage surrounded by an altar.

The other option I'm looking into is.....buying a salvage car and transferring parts to a new body......CA allows this if you document it correctly. My salvage guy thinks he can do it for under 20K and GMPP sells the complete body and subframe....but again that process would take 2 months.........

Standing offer price lowered to $24K
Independent dealers are now selling at $25K and I shouldn't have to pay that much to a private party who doesn't have the comparable overhead of an independent dealer.

Here's the ad, 2010 CyberGray auto 14K miles, no accidents. Full Price $24,995. He can do that because he bought at the wholsale auction for $21K. If he'll split the shipping with me its mine.

You cannot transfer to the "car in white" that GM sells. The cars are nearly impossible to get and CANNOT ever be used for street use. They do not have VINs and it is 1000% illegal to transfer the VIN from another car to a new body.

You could however purchase a salvage car and have it repaired - this is usually a cost effective option as salvage cars have should have at least a 25% lower price over comparable non-salvage cars.

You contradicted yourself. The "car in white" can be used as the source for ALL of the parts to repair the salvage vehcle. Title is abstract, it is not physical. The CA DMV provides for this.....
I've done it before......
New Frame, new body, New VIN tag.....DMV Inspection...Done!
I rebuilt a 2008 Z06 for $24K total.....Clubbed it for 2 years then sold it for $28K.
The "car in white" is just a consolidated source of the parts.

I don't think I'll have to pursue the salvage option as I've had two dealers yesterday at $25K for a 2010 2SS.

I'm closing in........I'll get one.

I hope other potential buyers find value in reading this thread. Never pay more than 20% over wholesale cash.....its just a waste of money...and you're being taken advantage of.
