CCSD: Campo Train Cruise, Saturday April 21st, 2012, 09:00 am
Meet at 9:00am at the Carls Jr on Jamacha Road (in the Edwards Cinema Shopping Center in Rancho San Diego) and head out Hwy 94 to...
1) the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum / Train Depot (http://www.sdrm.org/) and (optionally) take the 11:00 am train ride (seats 125) -- $15 per adult, $5 per child 6-12 years old, for one-hour 12-mile round trip from Campo to the International Border Tunnel, includes admission to the Railway Museum ...for those who do not take the train ride...tour of the Railway Museum -- $5 per adult, $2.50 per child 6-12 years old 2) 5 minutes away, tour of the Auto / Truck Transport Museum on Hwy 94 (http://motortransportmuseum.org) -- FREE (but they accept donations in an old style overnight bank deposit vault) 3) then to the Wisteria Candy Cottage on Olde Hwy 80 Lunch will be somewhere between the Train & Auto Museums...plan is for a picnic lunch, so bring chairs, sun screen, hat, etc. Alternatives are there is a Circle K as well as the Campo Diner between these 2 stops.  Carl's Jr. - El Cajon -> Pacific Southwest Railway Museum -> Motor Transport Museum -> Wisteria Candy Cottage

Weather Update! This Friday & Saturday are supposed to be the best weather days this week...sa-weet.
The Campo Train fee for the roundtrip to the border and back is only $12 a head if we have 15 or more in our group. There will be a nice mix of Camaro generations from the Camaro Club, in the 8 - 10 car range, so we need a few more to hit that "15 or more" group discount...who's in? :party0038:

Don't think my car will be ready yet. Taking much longer for repairs that I thought. I also have to be out in Yuma this weekend.

 ...cruise mascot...  ...rush hour?   ...we were NOT doing 30...trust me...   ...cruise mosquitos?  ...yep!  ...anyone have some bug spray?  Arrival at the Train depot...    ...all aboard...  ...guess what's coming...  ...bingo! (we're not talking Sycuan...)   ...end of the rail, or a dumb game of chicken?     ...I was arrested for going "beyond" this sign...just kidding...    ...much needed energy for the trip back...
