How much do you guys trust the Alky kits under boost??
My goal is 700 wheel with a ECS kit or a 2.9 Whipple. how much do you guys trust the Alky kits? Has anybody have one fail under boost? Or is it worth going with a fuel set up to make that power on pump gas without Alky?

I don't have the Alky one specifically. I hear it's great though. I have the Snow Performance one and my pump failed after only having it for 3 months and then they said they wouldn't cover it because I didn't still have the invoice/receipt. Luckily the engine was saved by safe injection box and a lingenfelter lnc-002

the snow performance you have to buy the safe injection (it didn't come with the kit, atleast the one I bought) and I bought a lnc 002 which is a timing box. set to retard timing 5 degrees. you notice a huge drop in power and there is an orange warning light, which the warning light is from the safe injection.

My personal experience wasn't to positive and if i could go back and do it again I would have spent that money on a cam. But I may just be bitter...lol

I am quite sure at the power level you are shooting for that Meth is not needed. Heck, LPE and ADM Perf build up to 1000 without it. Why be tethered to meth if you do not need it. I am at 654 rwhp, 93 octane pump gas, without it now. I do not want any bandaids on my motor. However many guys love it and feel it is necessary. Just my 2 cents.

It can be a great thing and installing a IAT sensor behind the nozzle is a great way to keep everything in good running order should the meth fail. You basically use the IAT table and if it fails it pulls a bunch of timing. It keeps the engine clean, increases the octane level and cools the charge. The ECS/Alky kit is nice. We have a few A6 Camaros making 650+ RWHP with the ECS kit without meth and we're about to build one with so we'll see where we end up. They both have our Stage 2 Cam package with stock heads and intake manifold.
653.68 RWHP and 595.91 RWTQ on 91 octane** Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions. Kind regards, Jordan Priestley 888.308.6007 |

I know I would for sure not tune for the meth. Have the tune made for no meth and just use the meth for the "justincase" scenarios. If the meth fails its no big deal because your tune wont be reling on it.

I agree. The meth is great for cooling the intake air and a little octane boost if you get some crappy gas. There is really no downside that I've experienced. The Ally Control kit is top quality and I wouldn't go with any other personally.

We have installed a lot of Alky kits with no problems. They are a top notch kit.

Thanks guy! I was also looking at the price of the alky kits and really for another 600 I can upgrade the whole fuel system and make 700 wheel on pump gas which guys are doing.

The volume of fuel isnt the issue as much as octane is.
