What interior option or change do you wish ZL-1 had?

Myself I think the exterior of the car is damn near perfect and would be hard to improve upon. But as for the interior I thought they really should have had a push button starter switch, even if just for the coolness factor. Since its built with race car DNA in mind nothing says that more than the push button for me. I know I could easily put one in but this is the one car of mine I'm going to restrain myself to not modify or start hacking up the interior to put gauges all over as I have done in the past with all my others. Next I would have liked to see a Recaro seat option available or a better, more supportive in the corners factory design. I'm not sure if I hate the head rests totally yet but the oval shape isnt agreeing with me either.

Lol, other than the points you have made, when thinking 6th gen I wonder what they plan to improve/change. 5th gens are so sexy to begin with...

I can't think of anything. Even after seeing the in-dash touch screen....

The Metallic black IP inserts, red stitching and suede appointments give the car such a rich feel, IMO. Reminds you that what you're driving CAN have good manners......if you feel like it.

I can't think of a thing, to me it is perfect ...

Has anyone noticed how the seats feel so much better than the 2SS or 2LT ? To me they almost feel gel like, kinda like a Dr. Scholls insert and it feels like you just sink into the seat more ... I likey a lot and especially with the seat heat on.

Yeah, I have!

I think it's the suede. You get the softness of a cloth seat, with the benefit of the leather bolsters.

-RECAROS
-Push button start
-Eliminate the rear seats & put a brace in like the LS Mustang or install a chrome roll bar for laughs
-I really do NOT like touch screens (MY2013), the 2012 controls are less distracting.
-Valentine or Passport stealth RADAR detector (w/ECMs... lolz)
-Have YOKOHAMA develop something like the Advan Neova AD-08 to replace the GOODYEARS for 14°F drivability. Have some kind of KEVLAR puncture-proof inner liner in each tire so flats are a fond memory; bulletproof.
-120HP+ Stage II kit installed at Oshawa as an option or a ZR1 engine.
-Install an UAD/VRH variable ride height kit run off of a small compressor to lift/lower 2.75" via two toggle switches in the dash & maintain MRC.
-SLIGHTLY LOUDER EXHAUST NOTE! ...just a TAD!
-$2K in gas swipecards in the glovebox.

Hey, I'm EZ to please!

Interior Improvements

Love the touch screen addition for 2013
A/C should have Auto mode to set interior temp - WTF how is this not included for 60K?
Electric seats should have Memory settings (although no one else will drive anyway!)
Rear View Mirror should have an IGNITION power lead to tap for radar detector
Recaro Seat Option
Eliminate Heated Seats and replace with vented (cooled) seats
Footwell and drinkholder lighting should be STANDARD
right side mirror s/b slightly convex (I know it is exterior)
more sensitive horn (hate having to be THAT intentional)
some better place to put your iPod /iPhone once connected via USB in console
have Lloyds make the ZL1 logo cargo mat to match the Lloyds ZL1 logo front mats

[EDIT] OH my biggest peeve:
Add matching interior stitching accents (NOT only RED)

picky yes, but those are my peeves so far...

and OMG I love the edge lighting on the door panels, way cool!

Automatic climate control
Push button start
Subwoofer
Navigation system

Pretty minor stuff really. All in all I absolutely love this car inside and out!!!

  • Recaros/Sparcos - you NEED them if you turn at over 1g
  • push button start would be nice
  • ventilated seats instead of heated as you cannot drive it below 40F because of the tires
  • Auto climate control would be nice
  • SHOULD have some options: sound system with subwoofers delete to save weight (I don't listen to it much - prefer the exhaust sound); manual adjustment for seats to save weight; rear seat delete or better yet removal option to save weight
  • Carbon fiber panels to save weight and look amazing
  • Improved functionality of the turn signal - I have a very hard time not turning it all the way instead of the 3x signal by just pushing up/down
Overall, it's a great car as it is!

- Recaro's as an option, the ones from the CTS-V specifically. I bought a Recaro booster seat (pictured below) to go in my ZL1 for my daughter. Check it out for all of you who have kids, looks sweet and my daughter loves it. Fits perfect.
- Carbon fiber interior option, at least the option to replace all the silver plastic for carbon
- Push button start

Now that is really cool that little car seat. Didnt even know they made such a thing. I might have to have a kid just so I got a reason to buy one. Seems like most of us agree on the seats and push button starter.

Memory seats. I loved them in my Z06.

Nav system with touch screen, didn't think I would like them until I installed a Kenwood in my truck (already covered for 2013).

Would like to pick my configuration for the HUD. (just tach and fluid temps for track days), no speedo.

Auto climate controls

Memory seats.
Push button start.
In-dash Navi/Infotainment system.
More carbon fiber optons- interior and exterior (I am still holding out for that concept spoiler)!
