what's the best "cat back" exhaust for a ls3?

Wanting a good "rumble" not happy with factory mufflers on my 2010 LS3. Just wanting to go from "cats" back. Is there any "bolt" on or do I need to go to a shop? Thanks

No such thing as best since everyone has a personal preference. The best thing you can do is try to find a local group of Camaros that you can go listen to in person. Even listening to videos is no guarantee.

You need to also factor in if you ever plan to add hearder or HF cats. That will significantly change the sound of your exhaust as well.

BTW: yes...a cat-back is just bolt on.

Some want loud, some (like myself) want deep, old-school exhaust sound. I just installed a Flowmaster cat-back American Thunder system. It has deep, agressive sound and definitely turns heads. It was $585 shipped new on Ebay.

When you check out videos to listen to various exhaust notes, make sure you play the audio through a quality sound system to get a "real" picture of what they sound like. Very important.

There's a sticky that has most of the catbacks and axlebacks availiable. Has lots of pics and vids.

No one knows what you like. Listen to all of them and make up your own mind.

best way is to go to a show or a event and look around, if i would have done that i would have save 300 bucks , and the hassel of resaling them.

I would have to second that one. The Retro Chambered is what these cars would sound like from the factory if the government didn't get involved. Definitely my personal favorite.

Magnaflow has some great options available. Both in 2.5" and 3" systems. The 3" systems have a factory connect in the front, which will allow you to add headers down the road. The Comp series are the loudest. I run Stainless Works headers with Magnaflow Comp 3". No drone with plenty of head turning capability. Plus, Magnflow fits great.

I have said this 1000x but it is kind of like shoes. Pick the style you want, and the price you will pay. Otherwise, they basically do the same thing. The Borla S-Type and Atak catbacks have been our most popular for a while now.
