has anyone in the calgary area seen or heard of one closing in on delivery? i was told mine was bieng built on the 19th but was informed today that it was bumped back. Not Happy

Hey, I've been reading this website for almost 2 years, and I figured it was about time for me sign up and start talking once I saw a "Calgary" related thread.

I just got off the phone with GM, and my car was shipped on May 20th. They figure it'll be here on the first or second week of June. The stripes arrived at the dealership on May 15.

There have been 2 delivered and picked up in Calgary over the last couple of weeks, one from CMP and one from Jack Carter, GSL is supposed to be getting 2 in within the next week.

I'm getting mine from GSL. After talking to my CSR a week or so ago he said that I might be the first car to the dealership. I was 7th on the list when I put my deposit down (in September of 2007), but apparently a few people have pulled out since the job market in Calgary stopped being so stable.

Also, a couple of people that were higher up on the list than me (whose cars were built awhile ago) got stuck in QA because of the recall on the battery cable, but that was supposed to be fixed on all cars produced after a certain date (late April).

The only other info I have is that the reason some other cars have been delayed for so long is because the parking lot in Oshawa uses a "first-in last-out" parking system. AKA the car got built, parked, and then other cars get parked blocking the first ones in.

I ordered mine from GSL also (number 5 on the list). Maybe ours will show up at the same time...LOL. I didn't get any info on the 2 vehicles that are coming in, all I am told is that they are sold orders, my sales guy told me he would call me when they were delivered so I could come down and see them.
What did you order?

I got a IOM 2SS/RS with black rally stripes, sunroof, inferno orange interior and polished wheels. What did you order?

Back in February when the orders had to be finalized my sales guy (John Bowerman) told me that I had been bumped up to 5th or so, so I bet you're a little higher up on that list than you think! When did you put down your initial deposit?

The one at Jack Carter's is an IOM SS2. Aparrently the guy bought it to basically store it. The odd Sunday drive but that's about it. He figures the value is gonna scream if he keeps it under cover. The thing is though.. Im told the guy is like 50 odd now. In 30 years when he plans to price/sell it, he's gonna be too damn old to enjoy it. Doesn't really wanna drive it.. just store it and look at it.
Shame really.

I was originally number 5 at GSL but when I went in January to place the order I was bumped to number 3 the two in front of me decided to wait for the Vert. I put my first deposit down just to get on the list in May 2007 and then January 10 I put the rest of my deposit down when I finalized my order.

I ordered the CGM 1SS/RS with black rally stripes and sunroof.

It is a shame for sure.
When I found out Jack Carter's had one I called to see if it was still there just to get a look at it and I just missed it, the guy picked it up about 2 hours before I called.

Do any dealers in Calgary have them sitting on their lots right now ??? I can not wait for mine( still in QC ) ,but would like to sit in one sometime this year LOL :-)

I don't think any of the dealers have Camaro's on their lots right now. I don't see them as staying long if any "unsold" orders do come in. From what I can gather, they are selling before they get them.

Mine was built in March sometime and I'm still waiting for it. My dealer (Southgate) just got the invoice for it a couple of days ago, so hopefully it is on it's way!
