Oh Yes, Got My Invitation to the Dance - VIN 11158
Haven't been to my dealership since November but thought I would make the 40 mile trip on this Memorial Day weekend. Boy did he ever have good news. Got my VIN, my status shows me at 3400 on 05/09/2009 but I'm hoping that it is built because another screen he showed me said it was "In-Transit".
What was really great is that I've never had a chance to sit in a 2010 Camaro. I only saw one at the DC Auto Show. They had a 2LT (non-RS), Yellow, automatic demonstrator that he let me take for a spin. Now I see why it has been said that it is worth the wait (read: I'm psyched!). Keeping in mind that I focused on the fundamentals during the test drive here are my thoughts: Yes, the windshield is like a turret but not a problem for me. Kind of like getting used to wide-screen HDTV. I thought the interior was nice. It did not strike me as "plain" and the knobs and buttons appeared to be well laid out but I did not play with them. Regarding the blind spot, if you are an experienced driver you should not have a problem. I adapted very quickly to the mirrors. Performance was "spirited" but I do long for my V8. No time trials so that's about all I can say. The ride was quiet and smooth. Since I ordered a sunroof I did play with the one the demonstrator and I was pleased with it. Nothing spectaclar other than it was larger (a good thing) then I thought it was going to be. The trunk is what I expected. Not roomy by large car standards but nothing that organization couldn't address (for my needs anyway). What a great day ![]() Paul EDIT: In anyone is interested I ordered on 11/29/2008. R6P!! Paul, how tall are you and did it feel at all like head was too close to sunroof while driving with it open? I sat in one with sunroof and was fine I'm 5 11, but I am trying to locate one to drive with sunroof before my order gets pulled. I love sunroofs but with all the talk on here if I felt like it was too close while driving to feel normal i was gonna delete it.

I'm 5'9". When I first got in the car I could feel my hair touching the roof. I played with the sunroof before adjusting the seat height and I know the seat was high because I could stick my hand out of the sunroof without angling my shoulder above 90 degrees. I lowered the seat for my comfort and that was a significant improvement. I'm not sure how much lower the seat could have gone though. If I were to guage from experience I would say the seat height was about mid-point based on my view of the hood. Generally I don't slouch when I drive and I keep the seat angled upright. Not sure if this helps. Paul |
