Procharger heating issues
Does anyone running a procharger have issues with hotter temps while idle in stop and go traffic? Also did anyone have problems fitting there radiator duct shroud back into lower bumber after intercooler being installed ?

I am not an expert on this, but I have heard of this on a couple other F/I setups. Put a giant IC in front of your radiator and you are going to lose some cooling capacity. Hopefully some other Camaro5 members have some experience to share with you. I have seen guys run a smaller ECS IC, 160 thermostat, bigger radiator, hood vents, bigger electric fans, external oil coolers.

It's been a hot summer in AR...I have had no problems and my IC is bigger than yours. Vortech ditches the shroud around radiator...lower shroud.

My car isn't here but pretty sure no shroud. All cars will heat up a little bit at idle.....I'd only be concerned if it is borderline overheating.

Mine Almost overheated in 100 degree heat after the track when I was creeping in traffic for over 30 minutes. Just turned the heat on and hoped it didn't overheat

You guys got jokes! So funny. And yes, shifting into 2nd at 95, tires broke loose at max boost and spun, starting going sideways at 105 where I let off.
You run drag radials right? Put street tires on there and go for a spin. Bet you can do it too. 285 nitto nt555 at 38psi spin at 100mph at over 600rwhp. Don't know what else to tell you. |

does anyone have a bigger aftermarket radiator and if so did it help. Also did the charge pipe to the TB rub?

It's both hotter here in AZ and I have a bigger intercooler than anyone, and I don't think I have a problem. It was 114 here the other day and my A/C was blowing ice cold. Car runs around 200 on the stock t-stat.
Keep in mind that all the LS engines 'water temp' is actually heavily influenced by cyl. head temp because of the sensor location. Tested this many years ago with an extra temp gauge in the radiator hose and under hard abuse the factory sensor would read 30+ over the actual water temp. |

Ive got no issues when crusing in even 100 degree days + humidity but
Once im stopped in traffic stop n go with ac on the temps start to raise Got as high as 247 I have the biggest ic u can put with my set up and i hv the 160 stat with 2 spal fans 1700cfm a piece with a vented hood too To get heat out the only piece that no longer fit there is the Radiator shroud which acts as a vortect and pulls air into radiator while at idle... My headers hv been ceramic coated as well everything i can do to keep The heat down has been done the only thing left is to swap out the radiator But before i do that id like to get some input from fellow members who hv Knowledge on or hv the same setup these oem radiators are pretty good so No need to change it if it wks what u guys think? |

Maybe a tuning issue? Maybe your fans don't pull air across enough of the radiator? Which Spal's are they? Is there a gap between the fans and the back of the radiator? |

I have a 6l80 automatic. Maybe it could be how my transmission is tuned? Torque management, shift pressures, shift times. It's a really good tranny tune as well. I have a video of the car shifting into 3rd at 100 and you can clearly hear the tires squeezing. |
