Question SS Hurst shift option

Ordered 2SS/RS, 6sp standard shift back in February. Dealer told me early on the Hurst shift option would delay delivery towards end of this year's production. Assume he knew what he was talking about. Anyone opt for the Hurst shift option and why?

It wont be available till later in the year. It would delay your car with this option selected.

I ordered one. My dealer said my car could be built 3rd week of June (notified last week)if I wanted to change my order and remove the Hurst shifter option. For now I said I will wait.

You'll probably be waiting for a while...

This is something relatively easy to install aftermarket. I would recommend going that route over waiting. It could be months before it's available.

I had mine taken off.... I agree, install it later on.

I had Scott Settlemire personally tell me that the throw on the stock shifter is the shortest he has ever felt. So I will give it a go for now.

The stock shifter IS really good. Take the hurst off and add it later unless you want it on the sticker.

it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

Is the V6 shifter supposed to be fairly short as well?

The stock shifter may be a fairly short throw from the factory. The problem is that it wont have adjustable shift stops to prevent shifter fork damage from shifting too hard. That's the main advantage of an aftermarket shifter. And in my mind is absolutely the first mod to be done if you have a manual! I hope some aftermarket companies really get on the ball and start getting their shifters out on the market. Hopefully Hurst and MGW can get theirs out quickly so we have options.

Anyone that hasnt heard of MGW, they make really nice Billet parts for mustangs and corvettes and recently started making shifters in the last 5 years or so, their stuff is top notch and I've had one of their shifters in the past for a mustang, it was AWESOME and had tons of adjustability.
