If you ordered on 05/13, the average wait time is 2 to 3 months. So figure August to September is a good bet. There is a lot of factors though that could change this. No one really knows how long it will take for sure. My car was ordered on 03/24 and I got it on 05/20, I had put a preliminary order back in late Jan. I just got lucky. Folks who ordered back in Oct, are still waiting.

You're right. R6P early orders should have been first.

I ordered 05/12/09 So pretty close to you (the OP). I am just waiting for my build-date currently.
I'll never get how all the r6p people seem to think they've waited so long. Cars weren't being built since october. They've only been being pumped out the last couple months... Nobody has waited very long. (How long do you think it should take to build and quality check thousands of a NEW insanely awesome car?) Personally if it was any quicker I'd be a little concerned about how long it was going to hold up. Like if you go to a restaraunt and order a meal and they bring it RIGHT out... You KNOW that junk wasn't freshly cooked lol. I'd rather wait for my meal and get it fresh & done right with no spit or pubes in it. Same goes for the Camaro. ESPECIALLY "The Camaro". Plus the price you pay for getting one of the first built Camaro's is that you get all the first built problems ! haha. So obviously yours are going to get held hostage so they can fix them. But then keep in mind they are still working on building new cars and most of the work force is going to be devoted to the manufacturers main goal of manufacturing new vehicles on the line. The old vehicles with the old problems are now in the hands of a smaller group of people and will thus take time. (However if memory serves me correct, there was announcements made that those vehicles are high priority to be finished up ASAP) but anyways, they're fixing thousands of vehicles? While making thousands of vehicles.... I dunno how many of you still believe santa claus runs a little sweat shop full of elves that can pump out The Camaro a thousand per second and fit them all into a big red sack and have them delievered to you over night all simultaneously. BUT children, that's not quite how things work in the real world where you don't get to be a spoiled brat. And GM is not going to HAULT all new production and devote it's entire work force to fixing older defective cars. I'd like to agree with people who think the R6P's should get their cars first. "However" from a realistic point of view, I'd have to disagree solely because it would be highly inefficient and impractical. I do sympathize though, I'd certainly like to see those who were eager enough to jump the gun so early...Get their prizes first. However... "patience" is a virtue... those who waited to order, will likely "wait" less overall than those who couldn't wait. Those of you who ordered early though will have something nobody else can have... One of the first built Camaro's. And I imagine that MOST people who ordered so early, are pretty fanatical about Camaro's... so most of you would likely have volunteered to wait a little longer to get one of the "first ones ever built" to make it that much more special.. So instead of being bitter about the wait, be grateful such a beautiful car is being made for us, and appreciate that for your extra time you are getting an extra special car. |
