Need "how-to remove" options for Rear Upper Bushing
Professionals, please advise.
I just read Nathan Moreno's post on how he removed the bushing from the rear upper arm bracket. Cut out center, heat to loosen adhesive, hammer in screwdriver and collapse sleeve. (He's probably going to media blast and powder coat the bracket) I haven't seen it closeup, but can it be pressed/pulled out without using a hydraulic press? I'm pulling my cradle to install a ZL1 pump and replace rear upper bushing. Already did my sub-frame bushings the hard way and when I saw Rob's(Wretched) socket between frame solution... DOH !!! |

I had a friend at a local garage use a ball joint press. It's about 2/3rds down the write-up
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=289431 I wish I had just bought the bracket with the bushing already pressed in like this one from JDP http://www.jdpmotorsports.com/manufa...ss-v8-jdps1001 |

Similar to Nathan I also had to cut/bend the metal ring to remove it but it wasn't too hard after i got the brakets off the frame and on the work bench.
Good luck with it. The two DIY threads above seem to outline it all pretty well.
