Maintenance on Polished wheels - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

To me it only makes since to upgrade to the Polished wheels for $450. So, I'm curious if they will be a pain in the a$$ to maintain. Will I have to polish them once or twice a year to keep them looking nice?

I actually think chrome wheels would be better but I've already checked into it and it would cost about $1,100 to chrome the factory wheels. Not cost effective since I could probably get aftermarket wheels for just a little more and there are plenty of other things to do to the car for that kind of $$$.

They are clear coated. No need to polish, just treat them like paint.

until about 20yrs down the road when the clear coat turns yellow and begins to chip

The manual on mine says to only use wax on them no metal polishes or cleaners. I have waxed mine and they seem to repel dirt/barke dust relatively well.
