In search of the Holy Paint Code !!!

First ZLI forum has provided me with great direction before and after purchasing my baby !

Like many of you with black spoke rims that have felt nauseated when they have scratched there rims, I to have joined the club !
So I followed in order
1, find a shop that can repair rims - check
2, assist with paint code - crickets !

I've read everyone's tricks of trade on what color to use (NGSF-100 ) and others out there and though helpful ! My question is why for such a nice and expensive car no paint code ?. So after a few hours of my life on hold this is where I stand
1, Dealer- no clue
2, GM paint code PX0076 Satin Gloss Black with WA8555 as touch up
only problem no ones heard of PX0076, and they have to shoot the
whole rim so touch up is out.
3, Just got off the phone with the plant in OSHAWA ON which turned me
to a customer service rep who said he should be able to get me the
proper paint code or the manufacture of the rims.
So hopefully next week I can have something for you guys that might help, until then stay safe

Jason

I recently did a paint correction on a ZL1. To me, the color of the black 10 spokes looks to be a matte version Carbon Flash Metallic. I was surprised to see they are definitely not just a matte black as they appear from a short distance.

Good luck with the code, and please post it. Under my 500 watt halogens, seeing all the metallic in the ZL1 rims has me wanting to refinish my 2000 SS wheels this color.

Yesterday morning GM Canada called me back and stated this
1, shoot it 1st with WA8555
2, shoot it 2nd with a Matte Finish clearcoat finish

So I got a pint so the WHOLE rim can be done unlike what I got
The paint supplier stated the clearcoat and hardener in a 8:1 and make sure you shake the shit out of it ! I look at him him and stated bro im a fireman and have no idea what your talking about but will pass it on to rim guy !
So I will post pics after its done !

I find it hard 2 believe it is a simple black (that is what wa8555 is). not calling them a liar, but the paint on my rims has little metal flakes. seems weird. of course it could be in the matte clear coat.

The only metallic on my rims is the brake dust. I use some touch up paint the body shop provided to me when they redid my hood. I only use it for chips on my rims as knock on wood I have not curbed them. The slight difference is not noticeable unless youre really looking deeply at it when the rim is freshly cleaned.
