BRM and BVM ZL1's. Wheel choices

In looking at the BRM color sticky and the few BVM threads available, it seems as though most have chosen to go with the optional polished wheels as opposed to the base black wheels. I am looking at an in stock BVM with polished wheels, but am thinking of ordering an additional set of the base black wheels to get that look. Very hard to decide though.

Although taste is personal, why did owners make the wheel choice they did?

Thanks,
Ken

My black car came with black wheels as ordered by the dealer. I am a fan of the polished to be honest.

Mine came with the polished.. they were ok.. but I ended up trading a dealer straight up for their 10 spoke blacks which looks phenomenal on blue ray metallic

Great question... After some indecision, I went and looked at a BRM ZL1 with BLACK wheels. I was sure I did not want a BLUE Camaro. AGM or Black... AND I thought, like many do, that silver wheels look MUCH better on BRM than black...

But I went and looked at it... It started to grow on me the more I looked at it... The salesman knew that it was all about color/wheels. Finally I said "I would never walk out of the house wearing a dark blue shirt with black pants. I think it looks bad."

Without batting an eye, the salesman turned and pointed at the ZL and said, "It is BAD."

$old...

My BRM ZL1 came with 5 spoke polished wheels. The color is so dark that it doesn't really look good with the 10 spoke black wheels IMHO. Black on black looks good, its just that the blue needs a contrast, because with the black, something just looks "off" I think.

In my opinion, BRM and BVM beg for the contrast that a polished wheel gives; Even more so than black. With black, the wheel color blends in with the body and will give you a killer look, but dark blue shouts for an opposing texture. What saves some of the dark blue ZLs is that the standard SSX wheel is excellent in appearance. The ssx wheel is so good that I can immediately tell the difference between it and the knock-offs.

What I would've preferred was a polished version of the oem SSX wheel, with a mix of the machine face and either the mirror polished spokes or the painted spokes. For now the optional wheel serves my car the best.

Great answers guys. Here are my options: In stock BVM with polished wheels, In stock CRT with polished wheels, I can have the parts department order a set of base wheels if I want. I can also order a car with a guaranteed allocation. If I order, I will order AGM with base wheels.

Thanks,
Ken

Too add.. I think we can agree that polished and black both look great. Comes down to personal preference

I have both for my BRM 'vert. I can honestly say that from a curb appeal the polished just seem to work better. However, the black wheels do add a level of the sinister look. As stated, it's really a matter of preference. As a side note, it might be blasphemy but I'm probably going to have the 10-spokes sandblasted and clear coated.

I preferred the polished with the BRM too. I think the gold bow tie looks great with it too.
