LFX vs LLT
My sister is looking to pickup a Camaro V6 to replace her daily driver. She is ideally looking for a new one, but is also looking at used as well to help meet her budget requirements.
I recommended 2012 and newer, one reason to be further into the model production to get away from possible first year issues and to get the LFX. However, is that a good thing for her to do specifically for the engine model. Is there anything the LFX has over the LLT, besides a little HP? Is one more durable/reliable than the other? Also, anything else I should recommend to help with her search in the used market? She is thinking about a Vert, but I think a Coupe would be better for a year round DD. I told her to try to find a 2LT / RS to get the backup camera / sensors. Can that be found on the LSes or 1LT as well? She is also looking at the Mustang, Accord and FRS. However, she likes the looks of the Camaro better than all of them by far. I also mentioned a Charger to her as well for the convenience of 4 doors or even the Challenger. However, we are more of a Chevrolet family. She used to drag her Father-In-Laws Monte Carlo a few years ago.

Better timing chain design, more capable HPDI furl pump and injectors, has a MAP sensor where the LLT did not so easier to tune and will run if MAF fails where LLT leaves you stuck, and if she gets a 2014 or newer the PCV drill mod is not needed as GM adopted the design the RX guy's had shared with all, and the 2014 and up have a low oil level indicator so if your/she is not one to check oil every 1000 miles or so that may save her from a blown engine.
I would shy from a LLT for those reasons. |

Great thanks. Real good information there. I didn't realize there were that many differences
She is actually doing the paperwork now for a new White 1LS at this very moment! So glad. Earlier, she told me she decided to get a Scion tC. Bout broke my heart. Haha. Then she said she was going to go test drive the Camaro to at least say she looked at it. Now she wrapping up the process getting the new one! I asked her what about the tC. She said is SO happy she didn't pull the trigger on the tC. They aren't in the same league. I test drove a tC years ago when I got my commuting civic and didn't like them at all. Seemed like a poorly put together car. I then moved to an Accord, and now that my commute is a fraction of what it was I upgraded to my love

Buy an LFX. the only disadvantage it has is the lack of exhaust headers. But seriously from someone who went through the LLT complete motor failure, buy an LFX

LFX, but sometimes the key gets stuck in the key fob if I don't put the shifter in park hard enough.
Mine doesn't. I'd like the backup camera but no thank you on the sensors, they make the bumper look hideous.
Camera and sensors are standard on the 2LT/2SS. I think they're an option on the 1LT/1SS |

I have a thirteen and it has the updated pcv valve.i understand that the updated valve started sometime during the thirteen build run. Even if you don't, no big deal. The drill mod is simple to complete.
