Making my camaro lighter
How could i make my 2ss car lighter compared to my buddys 5.0 mustang at 3,700 pounds? My car weights between 3,900 to 4,200 just want it to be closer to his weight with easy mods.

Remove equipment.
Replace parts with lighter parts. Remove sound deadening. Cut or drill out metal. |

DietCoke had a nice thread on here about trimming the fat out of these cars. He went "all in". Not sure you want to go to the extremes he did, but there is good information in that thread. Wheels and tires are huge. Front power seats are heavy, crash bars (front and rear) and brakes.

its going to be a difficult task without getting fiber glass carbon fiber bits and pieces.. maybe invest in more go fast parts to make up for the weight.. the z28 is stripped and it still comes in about 3800+

I think Diet had his down to around 3300lbs and it still looked "stockish" inside.

Don't mess with safety features and structure supports if you drive your car on the street at all. If someone drills you from the side at an intersection you don't want your car folding up around you.
