Dome light blinks with left turn signal
I did a search and couldn't find this anywhere.
My wife and I were on a roadtrip for the last two weeks. We were driving through Ohio late and were coming up on a toll booth and had the dome light on trying to get our money together. I happened to signal left while the dome light was on and noticed the dome light blinked with the left turn signal. So I tried the right turn signal and the dome light stayed solid. It's only with the left turn signal. dasubman1138 tried this on his Camaro and his does it too. Here's the video: http://qik.ly/gQky I don't see where this hurts anything but I wonder what this means that it's only the left turn signal. |

I haven't tried mine with a single turn signal but I did notice with the hazards flashing it did the same as yours. The engine was not running at the time.

Maybe they share a common ground?

Funny, just checked and mine does it too.
It's not an actual full blink though, it just dims.

Hmm, would be odd that it would dim like that from just a turn signal. Usually due to too much current being drawn.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with electrial issues. I posted awhile back about my wifes windows would all go down when she locked it with the key fob. They fixed that, but now the left turn signal does the samething as yours. We haven't even bothered to take it in for that. I'm kind of getting tired of it. They have more than we do.
By the way it really doesn't bother her because how often do you drive with the dome light on anyhow. Just strange. |

Yes, it will be from current draw. Even with only a few bulbs, they are probably only using 18 gauge wire. Different circuits of course, but it won't take much to bog down the BC. Again, you are using two different systems that weren't designed to be used at the say time. So realistically, how long do you drive with the console lights on, and how long do you drive with the blinker on? Not something I would waste my time worrying about, or have my car torn apart over!

I know its a silly issue, but I couldn't live with something like that, however to find the cause of it might be too much. It could be anything and anywhere that can cause that... =/
