60-day GM Satisfaction Guarantee

The Chevy website says that in lieu of the 60 day satisfaction guarantee, "the customer can elect a $500 cash rebate at the time of vehicle purchase" Has anyone gotten or had difficulty getting this $500 credit?

I pick up my car next Saturday. I mentioned to my dealer that I wanted to choose this option and he had no problem with it taking it and the USAA $750 discount off my price. Net to me: $1250 savings!

I picked mine up on 9/15/09 and the dealer actually brought the discount to my attention. No hassle at all. they were not aware of the USAA discount but they looked into it and had no problems honoring that either. I was told they get their money from USAA so it isn't like the dealer is losing anything on this.

Can they take the $500 off the price of the car when you're doing the paperwork or do they have to mail you a check after you buy the car? Just trying to get my monthly payment low as possible...

The money doesn't come from them. It comes as a rebate, meaning that you'll pay full price and get the rebate in the mail.

My dealer was able to take the price off the car itself with the rebate.

100% WRONG. Rebates always come off the bottom line. This isnt a cell phone here. Now you have the option of paying full price and getting $500 cash back in check form if you want, but not typically done that way.

In the OPs case it will come off what you pay. I am not sure if it is before or after tax though. Probably after. Uncle Sam wants all he can get!

They are giving $500 rebate for foregoing the return, but they have now jacked up the cost of the car by $500. Ordered 1SS back in July with base starting at $30,245 but now the website Chevy) shows $30,745 with an increase in delivery from $795 to $850. We are not getting a deal here.

Ok but if you actually look at options, the increase is for the ultrasonic parking assist. And car prices do go up as year goes by.

Correct. Consider the original prices, "introductory". The new prices became effective about the same time that new 2010 models became available. (The Camaro was early for a 2010).

Plus...500 dollars is still 500 dollars. It's an added rebate, whether the regular prices were raised or not.

I don't agree with your assessment. The ultrasonic parking assistant is not available on the 1SS. They treat the 1SS like a bastard stepchild. I have a ZO6 and did not want the leather. The leather GM uses is not top quality. For that, I have to suffer. I ordered the car originally back in 11/08 and the dealr says they forgot to place the order. They didn't however forget to chash my check. Now that I'm going on nearly 10 months, they increase the cost of the car and still can't get production right. I love the car, but come on people. It's like rewarding your child for getting a C in math when you know they should be getting an A.
