1/4 mile runs today...struggles
I ran today a few times trying to get a launch of any sort that didn't induce wheelspin, bog, or wheel hop. It is tough, and I had only 3 runs. I will post my best slip here so you can review. My car is setup 100% for road course and the timing has been reduced accordingly. Of course, 93 octane. The car makes 575rwhp & 500rwtq. Best pass was a 12.45@118.2 with a 2.14 60'. Not great but better before as I could only muster 13.0@110 stock with a 2.10 60'.

No...it was a good air day at +130ft above sea level. The measured DA was slightly negative. At the time of my best run the DA was -300ft.

If I can be on any track, I'm there. The Z/28 is definitely not a drag car...still fun and worthy of a few passes. I just need to practice the launch as this car is very touchy. The burnout became easier after the first two passes.

Yes, the wicker bill was still on the car in the low setting.

I ran my ZL1 road race tires which fit the car fine. They are 20x9.5" 30mm offset with tire pressure sensors. The tires are toyo proxes 285/35-20. They work at the track way better than the Pirelli Trofeos. Of course, there is a very slight height difference and the car hated that with ABS, service stabilitrak, service power steering messages after about two mins of driving. After a key off/on cycle the messages reset and I could complete a run without any messages appearing. I ran with the traction control/stabilitrak off. After about a half mile driving home, all of the warning messages reappeared. In my '12 ZL1, these messages would disappear after a little while but they would not in the Z/28.

Would removing the rear wicker bill upset the aero balance of the car during a drag race?
I know nothing about drag racing so I'm just asking out of curiosity.

I went to the strip with and without the wicker bill installed. Both time were slow but I would never make a pass without the wickerbill on my Z again. Just my experience

nah...running without the wickerbill would not do anything to the aero balance. The Z/28 already has a more substantial spoiler even without the addition of the wickerbill. For drag racing in the speed range of a Z/28, the less aero drag the better.
