Exclamation 5th Gen OIL COOLER LEAK | EASY FIX TUTORIAL

Hey guys,

I finally got around to fixing my oil leak in my 2010 2SS 6.2 liter Camaro. It only cost about $25 in parts from the chevy dealer and then you need to buy oil (and filter if needed) and anti-freeze from your parts store.

The job should only take you about 1 and a half hours max and it is very easy. I couldn't find any tutorials online, so I documented mine as this is a common problem for a lot of people.

Nothing scares me more than bringing my car to a shop where people are getting in and out of the car scratching the hell out of the interior... so any chance you can to avoid it... I would.

Hope this video helps.

That's good to know. Don't think mine is leaking but I'll check it out later today.

Wow. I just notice some oil from there the other day when doing my oil change. Was wondering what was going on. Thanks!

Wow, great timing! I am sure your head was spinning when you saw that leak. Get some carb cleaner and spraw the entire area and wash it off and then after a few days get under there and take a look. You will easily spot it.

What year is your camaro? Looks sweet! I actually just saw an orange camaro that flew off the road yesterday by my house. No idea what happened but when I was driving by the second time the state police were there with K-9s searching the area.. haha.. was insane.

Clear, very good job with the video. Your warning that the bolts are threaded in to aluminum will likely save folks from creating problems.
Last year found the bolts on my 2014 oil cooler needed snugging up a little at the oil pan flange/gasket (right below the blue arrow in pic);
and also the pressed in freeze plug type end cap at the blue arrow was seeping some in this location at the arrow tip:

Was the oil cooler end cap leaking at all on your Camaro?

These 2x10" homemade ramps give plenty of clearance and safety to get under there, have an optional top step that drops in place for more height.

Wow this seems to be a problem with the gaskets. Hell I thought I would need to spend a ton of money. And my warranty expired three months ago.

Yeah to be honest when I was changing the filter it did seem like the bolts were a bit loose as welll. But I am glad I changed everything anyways because it is a common problem. No leakage on the end cap though so that is good.

Sweet ramps too BTW!
