Parking all winter.

OK, I pretty much have all the details on how to store my car for winter, except I wanted to know what I can do to prevent my brake rotors from rusting up. Just wondering if there were any products that might help, or any tricks that may have worked well. Thanks

Yeah its gonna suck putting the car away, but at least I can get the Suburban out and beat that for awhile.

As long as their dry when you store and stay dry with a dehumidifier, you should be ok.

I store my 67 and my Harley in garage and have had minumal issues with rust flash.

You may want to invest in a dehumidifier for the garage though.

Just be thankful you aren't here then, you folks in the south don't know how good you actually have it.... I live near an expressway & have salt leeching into my garage through the floor mostly in the winter but all year.

This is not the place to live for a car enthusiast... winter takes a toll on a car even if it is off the road.

I'm not sure if I have the storage down pat myself, but as someone suggested a dehumidifier, these don't tend to work at all in the colder temps.

Harleys have stainless steel rotors so I've never had a problem with this. How does you '67 react to storage? This will be the first time that I have ever put a car away for a winter. What do you do about the battery? Trickle charger? Do you ever start it up, or do you just leave it? Do you cover it? Do you ever take it for a ride if the streets are clean?

Trickle chargers do the trick, i start mine every two or three weeks and move it up and down the driveway to clean the rotors.

Put the car on stands and just rotate the wheels when they get rust. There is enough drag on the pads to do the job.

What if you got a case of those dessicant packets and poured them out on your car and stuffed them in the wheels?

My Camaro's going to be a man and stick it out in the cold. And enjoy it.

The last time I put a 1998 Camaro on lift and started it and put it in gear it gave me a DTC for 2 tires not touching a surface. If the road is clear with no snow or ice, I would take it out around the block to get things charged up, like going to the gas station.
