Weights ZL1 vs ZL1
I know they say the 6th gen is 200 pounds lighter, how about the lt4 vs the lsa? Or car vs car, which I can't find any weights of the new ZL1.

Well, the LT4 is about the same weight as the LS9. So, I would assume the LT4 is lighter than the LSA.
Like mentioned above, no specs have been released. |

I would expect to see similar weight loss percentages from Gen5 ZL1 to Gen6 ZL1 as we saw with Gen5 SS to Gen6 SS. The body/frame alone is worth some, but could be offset by additions like eLSD (if that diff is heavier), wider fenders, etc.
But, no, nothing official yet. |

I found that the LS9 and LT4 weigh about the same ~ 529lbs. I thought the LT4 would've been a bit lighter.

The 6gen ZL1 should come in around 3950lbs or a little below that.

In an interview with AL someone posted recently, Al said that new ZL1 is about 230 pounds lighter.

Yes, the ZL1 is at least 200 lbs lighter than the last gen...that's all the official info we've got at this point.

I was checking out the Goodwood's website on Saturday and found an article that had a brief interview with one of GM's engineers (don't remember who) and the engineer said that power is going to be 650 hp and weight is 1770 kg (about 3894 lbs converted). I went back later to try to find the article but Goodwood had taken it down. So, I don't have a link for you guys.
If the specs is true, then the ZL1 with the 10 speed is going to run circles around the GT350. Z28 will make the GT350R obsolete. Too bad for people who paid $20K mark up for the R. |

I found the article.
https://www.goodwood.com/grrc/event-...ht-hand-drive/ I'm all in. The Z28 should weigh a juicy ~3600 lbs. |

The differential in the 2012-2015 ZL1 weighed 200 lbs MORE than the one in the SS. It was the beefier setup.
Are we to surmise that the new differential in the SS and ZL1 will be the same? Time will tell. But I suspect GM saw reducing the weight in the differential a must. I would like to see what happens with 1,000 launches at the strip like they did in the 2012 however. Would be interesting to see that announced too. But, as others have stated, a reduced strength diff may not be noticeable unless you are a builder.
